One thing that is very telling to me is that there is a spectrum of concern/awareness of the speed of development happening with respect to these tools, and it appears that the closer you are to the cutting edge work being done, the more convinced you are of the frenetic pace of change...
Great article Joe! The Brazilian architect is the good scenario and it is not only possible but we will see many such examples. A bad scenario is what worries me: the mechanics of how displacement actually plays out in Europe look similar to the post-communist economic transitions in the 1990s, except running in reverse. A reverse economic transition is a real risk.
I just finished a longer piece working through the economics of that risk.
