"Writing is thinking" is exactly why I feel that using AI generated content in school should be considered cheating. Especially in school, the final output is merely an artifact that represents the real goal; the acquisition of new knowledge or new skills.

“Writing is thinking”. This is so true. It’s when I start writing my articles where I start scratching my head saying “wait a second…this hardly makes any sense to me. How can I frame this to make sense to others”.

True growth on a subject comes from taking the time to explain it to others as if they have never heard of it before.

Bizarrely I almost messaged you on this topic recently. I was speaking with an O'Reilly published author who basically told me their entire book was pretty much ghostwritten by ChatGPT. That doesn't sit well with me and I think it takes away from the craft of being a writer. I should probably start being a bit smarter with how I use AI, but I think the approaches you've outlined here are more like the kind of use cases I'd be likely to use.

And that’s super lame if someone is using ChatGPT to write their whole book. That person isn’t worthy of being called an author. They’re an insult to the profession

"Quirks and mistakes are a feature, not a bug." This could not be more true, this is how readers know you authentically, writing is a vulnerable act.
